Founded in 1949 as a trading company for special stainless steel materials, Rurex-Stahl Dr. Otto Kukla GmbH today operates worldwide manufacturing facilities for the glass industry at its two plants in Erkrath (near Düsseldorf) and Gelsenkirchen. In the container glass sector, the company produces heat- and wear-resistant spare parts, such as springs, plates, and shear blades, specifically designed for high-speed IS machines. In the flat glass sector, Rurex is a technology leader providing customised machinery and complete production lines for solar glass, cast glass, wired glass, and profile glass.
