RW Silicium GmbH
Silicon and silica powder for the refractory and ceramic industry

Based in the Bavaria region of Germany, RW Silicium GmbH produces microsilica and metallurgical silicon. In electric arc furnaces, quartz is converted into silicon by reaction with carbon. Silver-coloured metallic silicon is used in the chemical industry as the base material for silicone chemistry, microelectronics and solar energy, and also serves as an alloying metal in aluminium casting.
Products
Microsilica (amorphous silicon dioxide) arises as a by-product during manufacturing. Densified and sold under the name RW-Füller, this high-quality microfiller is used in the production of refractory materials. It is particularly important in monolithic refractory production technology, as an additive that improves colloidal behaviour.
Microsilica produced without densification is sold as RW-Compasil and is applied in the production of special cements and concretes.
Leading refractory, ceramic and special construction material manufacturers in Turkey and worldwide have been using RW Silicium products for many years.
